Located along
beautiful Lake Michigan between Chicago and Milwaukee, Kenosha is
an ideal spot for a weekend getaway or a family vacation. There is more to
do year round in Kenosha than ever before with great shopping, activities
along Lake Michigan and an upbeat and lively city!
Outdoor
Recreation
Parks, beaches, marinas and nature areas account for nearly 90% of the Lake Michigan shoreline
in Kenosha. You'll enjoy boating, swimming, fishing and more as
well as the scenic beauty of the area. Kenosha is especially proud of
their newest lakefront neighborhood - HarborPark. Here on the shores of Lake Michigan, youll find sandy beaches, tranquil public gardens and fountains, a promenade perfect for walking, biking or skating, outdoor concerts, and many family-oriented festivals and events.
Hike or bike the 10.2 mile Pike Bike Trail along Lake Michigan. The trail
runs along points of interest including three historic districts, two
historic lighthouses and a nature center. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy
three area golf courses. There is a lot of outdoor fun to in Kenosha!
Historical & Cultural Activities
It's fun to see the Historic Kenosha Districts when
you travel by vintage electric streetcars. Streetcars travel through the HarborPark neighborhood, along the lakeshore and downtown areas, and through historic districts. Other
fun stops are the Kenosha Public Museum in HarborPark and its collection of wild and woolly mammoths, excavated right here in Kenosha
County. Another popular attraction is the Kenosha History Center and its Rambler Legacy Gallery that tells the story of how the auto industry shaped
the community. Fun for the entire family is the Bristol Renaissance Faire
where you'll experience the romance, mystery, food and jesting, and
jousting games of Elizabethan England, from the end of June through
August. With art fairs, farmers markets, summer concerts and lots of
festivals, there is no shortage of things to see and do in Kenosha!
Shopping, Dining, Entertainment & Lodging
For the serious shopper or the casual browser, there is
plenty of shopping in the Kenosha area to please everyone! There are two
large outlet malls, a shopping mall, antique shops, unique gift shops,
specialty stores, cheese and gourmet food shops, and many other fine
retailers. You'll also find a variety of great dining in Kenosha. From
casual American meals to formal European cuisine and everything
in-between, there are dining establishments located overlooking
beautiful Lake Michigan, in historic downtown Kenosha, and in the
picturesque countryside. A variety of outstanding entertainment is
available in Kenosha, including community theater, concert bands, local
performances in clubs and restaurants, and world-class entertainers. In the
