Merrill
City of Parks
Located in
North-Central Wisconsin, Merrill is large enough to have many city
advantages, but small enough to have lots of small-town charm.
The community boasts beautiful tree-lined streets and many parks filled
with outdoor activities for the entire family. The
area surrounding Merrill is covered with rivers, streams and
lush forests -- and full of wildlife -- providing outdoor adventure for
all ages. From outdoor recreational activities to theater and community
festivals and events, there is always plenty to do in Merrill.
Community
Merrill
is a community with lots of small town charm and northwoods hospitality.
It's also a very progressive community with a strong economy provided by a
diverse industrial base. Year round Merrill residents and visitors
enjoy plenty of activities. Merrill has one of the last remaining
city bands in the state and it performs weekly outdoors during the summer
at various events and evening concerts. The Merrill Community Players
offer great local theater, and in the summer artists show their works on
the courthouse lawn. Farmer's Markets, and special events and festivals
such as the Polka Festival, rodeo, parades, ice cream socials, and the
county fair are popular summer attractions. In the fall and winter, enjoy
the Labor Day Parade and activities, Winterfest, and Halloween and
holiday events.
Excellent
dining, accommodations, and shopping are found in Merrill.
Several special retail promotions -- Crazy Daze, Octoberfest and the
Spring Spectacular -- bring lots of shoppers to Merrill, not only
for the great shopping, but also for the fun at the special celebrations
planned with these events.
