settled in the 1820's by Cornish lead miners, Platteville offers an

heritage when you ride in ore cars pulled by a 1931 mine locomotive. You
can descend into the 1845 Bevans lead mine and visit the working head-frame
where ore was hoisted and hand sorted at the Platteville Mining Museum. Downtown Platteville is the area's historic shopping and entertainment
district and houses historic museums, homes, artifacts and more. The
historic architecture and the village atmosphere will charm you.

opportunities for the whole family are plentiful all year round. Biking,
